Ask Montano Orthodontics: What can Invisalign do for my oral health?

Invisalign BakersfieldWhen considering treatment options, patients often ask us how Invisalign treatment is so different than traditional braces. Well, there are more reasons to smile about Invisalign with Dr. Montano than you may know.  Invisalign is a series of removable aligners that are nearly invisible, and besides straightening your teeth, can improve your oral health. Here’s how:

Healthy gums: Straight teeth allow a close fit for gums. This lessens the gum stress that is caused by crowded or widely spaced teeth, thus also reducing red and swollen gums.

Easy cleaning: Invisalign is removable, therefore brushing and flossing is easier and you are able to maintain a healthy mouth. These habits are vital to avoiding tooth decay, plaque and even gum disease.

Improved speech and chewing: Properly-aligned teeth don’t have the discomfort or compound speech impediments that can be caused by crowded teeth or a deteriorating jawbone.

If you have any questions about Invisalign, just ask us the next time you’re in for an appointment. Or, you may post your question on our Facebook page! You can also read this article for more information on Invisalign and your oral health.

Madison Ives Smile For a LifetimeCongratulations to Madison Ives one of our recent Smile for a Lifetime scholarship recipients. Madison just graduated 8th grade from Actis Jr. High with many accomplishments. According to many teachers and counselors; “Madison serves as a positive role model among her peers and everyone who meets her, benefits from the experience.” Madison is a hard working young lady who served as ASB Treasurer, peer WEB leader, yearbook editor and also played drums in the school marching band. Ms. Raney her English teacher says, “she is a remarkable young woman who is years beyond her age.”

When Dr. Montano’s office surprised Madison at her school with her scholarship she told us, “I was pretty much speechless, it was surreal.” Smile for a Lifetime and Montano Orthodontics feel this investment in Madison will be one in which we will all see plentiful returns.

Kaitlin Lang Smile For a LifetimeKaitlin Lang is another one of Smile for a Lifetime’s newest deserving scholarship recipients. Kaitlin is only going to be a 6th grader at Owens Intermediate School, but already has many accomplishments under her belt. Kaitlin tells us, “ I love learning and being active, but I want people to look at me and listen to the things I have to say and not my crooked teeth.”

Kaitlin is a busy little girl that participates in most academic contests at school. She is currently in the G.A.T.E. program, performing arts club, plays violin, competes on the swim team, and is already an accomplished actress having performed in over 20 plays. Kaitlin’s coach tells us,“ I wish all my students were as dedicated to doing their best, she has a great work ethic.” When Kaitlin grows up she wants to become a chemist or geneticist so she can make new discoveries and help people. Smile for a Lifetime and Montano Orthodontics want to give Kaitlin that beautiful healthy smile she needs to achieve the bright future she has planned for herself.
